Cute but I didn't buy them

These Mary Jane shoes are moulded plastic by Vivienne Westwood for Melissa. These were in Topshop. I didn’t check the price but I don’t think they are expensive. Very comfortable & elegant but I am not sure if they would stand up on the Brompton pedals. (The folding pedal has a serrated edge that cuts into some of my shoes soles.)

I will think about them.

Those are some shoes! I love Vivienne Westwood and I love the design, but I don't love plastic footwear - so I would not have gotten these either.

Question: Don't you find the soles on most high-heeled shoes slippery on the pedals? This is my biggest problem right now when attempting high heeled cycling.

I know what you mean that happens to me now and then, depending on the shoe. But most of my shoes seem to have a rubber sole rather than a smooth sole which gives a better grip and as I said above the Brompton pedals are ‘fierce’ and dig into my shoes and boots.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Vivienne Westwood keeps her heels in her bicycle basket. That's so smart and, now that I think of it, a lot of nice shoe brands offer a "dust bag" inside of the shoe box (I'm sure Miss Sixty does). You could just throw the shoes in the bag and then throw them in your Ortlieb shopper.

I have a couple drawstring shoe bags I got from a shop called Muji and I put my spare shoes in one of these. I also store my bike lock in a Muji bag when I am on the Brompton. I love the idea that Westwood is a cyclist too.
