I collected my Brompton today from Compton Cycles following it’s annual service. I had a break cable replaced and one of the reflector lights. Cost of Service £54 but with the extra checks/work including the cable the total cost was £63.95.
You did well- I was quoted £60 = VAT for the same service from the same shop. Maybe it helps having a blog!

LOL. Crompton Cycles don't know that I write this blog and I prefer to be a 'secret shopper'. However one of the staff at Velorution did work out I was 'Cycling in Heels' because she had read the blog.

Nice to read you back. I have a service every six month. The first (in december) will be gratis. Afterwards I have to pay, but I don't know how much. The only service I do by myself is oiling the chain from time to time.

May I ask how long you had to wait to get your service done, if at all? Here in Brussels, I just went to book an appointment for an annual service and I have to wait three-and-a-half months, which I think is insane! Not enough Brompton mechanics here, supposedly.

That does sound crazy. It only takes a couple days to get a slot in most bike shops for a service, unless they are very busy.
