The sun is back - get out the sandals

On Monday we were freezing but suddenly we have heat wave in London. Yesterday afternoon I just gave myself up to enjoying riding around the back streets in the Elephant & Castle & Walworth area of Southwark while listening to Fleetwood Mac ‘The Chain’ on the ipod nano.

I am also back to just using my Bagaboo courier bag, but it is too hot to carry so I am strapped it to the back of the Brompton. I didn’t want to use the pannier because I end up carrying so much, but the Bagaboo is also a little big. I will get out my Ortlieb zip city bag this weekend which may be a good compromise.

I don’t have any clear evidence but I think the numbers of cyclists are up in London as I see so many people using the hire bikes. I suspect there will be a further increase in a few weeks when the Olympics begin and getting around will become more complicated.

Glad to hear warmer weather is in your neck of the woods! Recently, I changed planes Heathrow, but didn't get out into the city. Perhaps next time!

Have a great time during Olympics!

Hi there. We should enjoy this good weather as long as it lasts, shouldn't we? Unfortunately, I was knocked off by a black cab 2 weeks ago. And my Brommie and my knee are still out of action. That means I am missing the recent gorgeous weather (sob).
I like your blog very much. Safe cycling (^-^)

Thanks. This is the second story I have heard today about someone coming off their bike. You can rest your knee in the sun with little Mr B by your side. (He is so cute.) I hope you and your Brompton will be back on the road soon.
