I got this video by Street Films in a link from the London Cycling Campaign e-newsletter. I try to get to New York every other year and I was last there in 2008. I didn’t see any cyclists in Manhattan (I saw a parked folding bike) but I think the cycle lanes are on the outskirts of the city.
Good to see that NYC bike community is supportive of each other and it doesn’t matter what or how they ride.

To think that one of the worlds busiest cities is adopting this, should encourage others.
In fact due to the sheer size of it surely it should follow that cars are extremely inefficient in size, manoeuvrability, and throughput.
Thus the bike / scooter would seem the one of the most effective method of private transportation (all the better if made public).
