Bike Club

Extreme weather has mainly kept me off the Brompton over the past couple weeks. First it was too hot to cycle and then we had heavy rain. My Tuesday bike ride to my life drawing class was the exception to my cycling hiatus. Cycling in rush hour through the City is great as I feel part of a big mobile club. There are now many more Londoners on their bikes and I am not including those on the hire bikes. Makes me want to join Critical Mass.

Hope your weather changes for good and you have lots of fun cycling around!

Where I am, in Texas, USA, it is hotter than hell :( Hopefully, it will cool off soon.

Peace :)

I once went on a Critical Mass ride. I think they ride the last Friday of every month in London, starting outside the BFI on the South Bank.
Unfortunately it wasn't as an enjoyable experience as I hoped it would be. I saw more antagonism between cyclists and cars in half an hour than I have in a couple of years. Cars (especially black cabs) were getting very annoyed at having a large group of cyclists riding through London, taking up the full width of the road, delaying their journey with no consideration that they were holding up traffic. It certainly wasn't a great PR exercise.
Maybe I caught it on a bad night.

Mmm, I hear what Gareth is saying about Critical Mass. I'd like to demonstrate, but antagonising drivers can't help us in the long run.

Let me know if you decide to do it; I think I'll give it a shot this year, and would like to tag along if you do!
